These Terms of Service govern your use of PureTools (the "Site"). By using the Site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. The service

PureTools provides free, browser-based tools for generating QR codes, barcodes and 2D codes. We may add, change or remove features at any time.

2. Your content and ownership

You keep all rights to the content you encode. Codes you generate are yours to use for personal and commercial purposes without attribution. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to use the content you encode, including any logos you upload.

3. Acceptable use

  • Do not use the Site to create codes that point to malware, phishing, scams or illegal content.
  • Do not use the tools to impersonate others, infringe intellectual property or mislead people who scan a code.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the Site's infrastructure.

4. Barcode numbers and standards

The Site draws barcode images from the values you provide. It does not issue or license GTIN, EAN, UPC or other identification numbers. Retail identification numbers must be obtained from GS1 or the relevant authority, and you are responsible for the correctness of every number you encode.

5. Disclaimer

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Always test codes with the scanners and devices your audience will use before printing or distributing them. We are not responsible for printing costs, lost sales or other losses caused by codes that do not scan or were generated from incorrect data.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PureTools will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site.

7. Third-party content and ads

The Site displays advertisements and may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or practices. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising cookies are used.

8. Trademarks

QR Code is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED. GS1 is a registered trademark of GS1 AISBL.
